Though he's still in high school, Ilan Meerovich is a veteran of the Chicago-area chess community.  He led his Niles North High School team to the 2006 Illinois State Championship.  His personal tournament accomplishments include:

• 2006 Midwest Class Championships, 1st place in the  U2000 section
• 2005 Chicago Open - tie for 2nd place, U2000 section
• 2004 Chicago Open tie for 1st, U1400 section
• 2003 Chicago Open - 2nd place, U1000  

Ilan and his Bughouse partner Dan McNally have won the National High School Bughouse Championship.
