Boards on Fire Welcome to the online home of the
Chicago Blaze, Illinois's representative in the
United
States Chess League.
The USCL is a organization
of competitive, professional chess teams from across the
country that play matches during a ten-week season that runs
from late August to late October.
 The Blaze is a new team,
and 2008 will be its first year in the league. Last
year the USCL had twelve teams from New York and Boston to
Seattle and San Francisco but until now no team from
Chicago. This year two expansion teams have joined the league,
the Blaze and the
Arizona Scorpions.
USCL Matches are played
online, via the Internet Chess Club. The Blaze gather
for their matches at the
Holiday Inn in Skokie, 5300 West Touhy Avenue.
Even though the Blaze
is new, we have high hopes for our first year because of our
powerful roster, which includes some of the best chess
players in the country, all of whom live and play in
Northern Illinois.
